Default Need a pro for cam sensor issues

This problem from googling happens on a variety of cars, but I have a 2012 Chevy Cruze 1.8L Automatic. After replacing my thermostat , I had a no crank issue with codes p0365 , p0366, and p0017. I replaced cam sensors, both cam sensor actuator solenoids after the dealer told me actuator valves were the problem . The car will only start with the sensor unpluggged. While plugged in it wont even crank. I have done the CKP relearn after swapping new sensors. I have a GTC short finder , but not sure where to hook the 2 alligator clips to trace the short for the cam sensor wiring. At a complete loss.
