Default need tech help

I posted this same message under the Impala thread, but did not know for sure where to put it. Any help will be appreciated.

I have a 2004 Impala. First the cruise stopped working, then the blinkers started to act up. They would work, but while they are blinking, they flicker. Then the Emergency flashers and the blinkers quit all to gether. I can still flash my blinkers by manually moving the blinker arm at the steering colum. All fuses and bulbs are OK. Currently none of the 3 are working, although they did work the other day for a few hours, then stopped working all together. I had one person tell me he thought the emergency flasher controlled all three functions. The emergency flasher is located in the dash, not on the steering colum. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Mark

That is what I thought, but there is no flasher switch that I can find. I have heard it is built into the emergency flasher, but want to be sure before I tear the dash apart since that is where it is at. Thanks for the reply.

sounds like your multi function switch is bad . maybe the cause of your cruize control inop .the cruize control is not seeing a brake light impulse and causing the cruize not to work. check you stop lights ?do they work

Yes the brake lights work. Also, the entire system has now began working. What could it have been? I suppose I can expect it to go out again.

I would guess your turn signal switch. All these functions are controled off it. Or am I wrong? I don't know if that can be tested or not. It won't be cheap either. Your best bet would probably be to take it to someone.
