Default New Clutch

I have a 1999 Chevy Silverado that had a stock 4.8L manual transmission. When purchased several years back the prior owner had swapped in a 5.3L. Shortly after purchase I had a rear main seal that leaked oil into my clutch causing a clutch failure.

Back then I had a shop do the replacement costing me close to 2 grand. After several years of hauling boats and trailers my clutch is beginning to slip when towing.

I recall the shop mentioning some part required to get the stock clutch from a 4.8 to mend with the 5.3 installed.

I am looking to replace the clutch myself this time but have not had any luck finding this part the shop had mentioned.

Is there actually a part someone can point me in the right direction to? Or is this a mythical part the shop came up with to charge me more?

Regards,

Declan

The Chevy 4.8L and 5.3 liter use the same clutch. No difference at all..
