New ICM causing misfire

Chevy Cobalt. 2.2 Ecotec. Replaced ICM due to the common P0300 code.(Random Multiple Misfires.) The CEL lights up when engine gets hot. So when installing new ICM, engine goes into crazy misfiring at start up. Does something need to be reset so the ICM and ECM can communicate?
