Default No overheating problems?? 96s10 4.3 vortec

Ok I have an s10 vortec. I pulled the radiator to work on the ac and flushed it out. But when I put it back in ran the truck for 20 minutes and only got half a gallon of antifreeze in it.? I know it can't be circulating good bc my Trans keeps running hot but the engine will not come above 210 and it never gets that high unless I run it HARD. my grandma has the same truck and he can't get it below 210.is there something wrong?

I opened the drain plug and let it drain then I pulled it out and ran water through it. Wasn't much water in the engine. Tried to drive it today and the Trans got hot again. The lockout came out at 30 mph and the truck almost stalled. Buying a new radiator this weekend but do i need to flush the engine? We changed the intake gasket and it looked clean
