Default Noise While Turning

Looking for some one to help me.
I drive an 02 z71 and when I turn the wheel either way I get a whining noise from the steering box. I usually get this while backing my trailer up in tight spots. Anyone know what this is or how to fix it?
Thanks

Is ther power steering pump resivor full? how old is the pump? May just be wear noise when you hit full turn. May have a pump getting loose.

Fluid is full and this happens while turning. Doesn't make the same noise as when you hit full turn, however it is simular. Pump is origanal pump from 02.
Thanks for replying.
