Default Odometer stopped

My 1991 Chev S-10 P/U hit 100,000 miles then the odometer stopped working. Can anyone give me a clue as to what I can do on my own before seeking an expensive mechanic? Thanks

Odd that it would stop right at 100k, that may suggest a problem inside the odometer itself, but first i would check odometer cable it runs from behind the odometer to the transmission. Should be able to find a vid showing it on youtube.

if the speedometer works, the odometer is broken. you can replace the instrument cluster with one from a junkyard for cheap.
