My 2017 Impala has 123.000 miles on it
I am burning about one quart per 5.000 miles
I want to know if I should put a additives in there like syntethic Lucas oil
I use tu add stuff to my big diesel when I was still working
So far everybody is telling me something different.
I hope somebody knows what to do

Figure out the problem, and fix it. Additives is not the answer.

 

1 qt/5k miles sounds pretty good. Perform regular oil/filter changes and call it good.

 

Engine valve seals are likely gone. Replace those and it will likely use less oil. That oil is damaging your catalytic converter. Oil rings on the pistons might be carboned up and sticking, so an additive MIGHT free them up. CD2 might help as it has a good reputation for many years. I'd use synthetic oil as well. A full quart of oil used at 5000 mile changes is excessive. 1/2 quart would be normal.
