Default Oil pressure fluctuates while driving

Hello all. I have a 2004 Chevy suburban lt1500 with the 5.3 liter engine. I bought it a month ago, and iv noticed recently while driving that the oil pressure fluctuates quite a lot. It'll go from 40 to 65 and sometimes almost to 80 when I give it enough gas. It was more extreme when I was towing a small utility trailer with a golf cart on it the other week. Is this normal for these suburbans to have the oil pressure fluctuate so much while driving? I changed the oil sending unit and it did not solve the problem. I also did an engine flush and change the oil and filter. When I did the engine oil change I did not notice anything in the oil that was odd or alarming like metal shavings or anything else. Any help would be appreciated. I'm hoping I'm just being paranoid but better safe than sorry.

Are you talking about the oil sensor unit that sits on top of the oil pump ? Because if so I already replaced that.

I bought it off an old guy who kept up with the maintenance and oil changes. He didn't say anything about overhauling the engine. Pretty honest guy, but what your saying is it could be the oil pump ?

I did. No leaks. Oil is not too full or too low either.

Years ago I changed oil pressure sensor on his 5.3 Tahoe. It was located at L rear top of engine. There was a screen filter under sensor which needed cleaning . Solved the problem .
