Default Oil pressure relief valve

I got a 99 Tahoe with the Gen I 350 V8. I am about to replace the engine with a rebuilt from Jasper were they write that I have to have a pressure relief valve installed. I can't seem to find out exactly where this would be. I got a new oil filter adapter, which also runs the pipes to the oil cooler. I assume it's located in there, but will it be installed in the oil filter adapter I bought from GM?

I'd appreciate any help.

the one that jasper is prob talking about ,unless you ask them is prob not designed for a remote cooler .and just bolts to the block with the threaded insert to screw the filter on . i belive the relief valve is in the
oil filter adaptor you bought look in the bottom of the adaptor ,they were a spring loaded wafer adaptor in the older models .

Good luck with the swap, I dropped a Jasper 383 in my 95 and I love it.

Thanks for the help. I'll double check but I'm pretty sure it's what "old dog" is talking about. i can't see any reason why this valve should be installed separately into the oil cooler filter adapter.

mudmaniac: got bigger cams in the new 350. Otherwise stock. Wanted to do headers, but the ones I got were crappy so I went back to stock. I also need new cats, so maybe I'll get some with better flow than stock.
