Default out side temp.

I recently purchased an 06 Monte Carlo SS. Nice car but has a few bugs.

The DIC shows the outside temperture to be -40 degrees. This causes the display to show a warning of "possible ice on roadway", or something to that effect.

Anyone know what the problem may be.
Where is the sensor located?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Roy

Thanks Shawn.

Would that be the part with the Number 1 in the second part of the diagram?

Thanks again Shawn. Ordered a replacement sensor from Rock Auto, and less than $10 bucks later, all is well. Temp. now reads about right and the warning message is gone. Now on to the next project, flush and fill the cooling system.
