Today, I have decided to replace my aging exhaust manifolds with some thing better; Headers. My problem is that these headers use Oval ports rather than the D ports that my 5.7 350 has. I am wondering if there is a way to just ignore geometry and go with it, avoiding any drawbacks.
I am also doing this because my passenger side exhaust manifold decided to begin to leak exhaust and over heat the engine bay along with burn my spark plug wires on that side.
If some one could just give me the D port specs, so I could maybe over compensate with the Oval ports so they lip over the D ports.
Here is my vehicle's specs
---------------
1983 K10 Chevy Sierra Classic Suburban
4x4/TH300
Stock GM 5.7 Gasoline 350 (Exhaust is above the spark plugs)
Stock Single Exhaust, manifolds.
170,6xx miles
