Default Radiator hoses, better than ever?

We have a 10 year old Impala, and an 8 year old Silverado, 77K and 110K respectively for the miles.

The truck we travel in, so I will probably buy some hoses and keep with me when on the road trips. The car rarely gets more than a few miles from home. I checked the hoses on both recently, and there is no stiffness, bulging, etc. to indicate that they aren't almost as good as new. Recently had both vehicles flushed and refilled, mechanics didn't say anything about needing new hoses.

Back in the old days, late 70's cars, hoses didn't seem to last very long. But now they seem to last forever. Have the parts makers figured it out? anybody here "in the know" about this?
