installed 2 retro radios in my chevelle work great until you start the car stereo cuts out ...so gave up cut the dash installed a new kenwood ..works with car running but still has a tic ....frame chasis engine grounds all redon ..disconnected alt ...cant figure it out going to try hei and take out point set up >>??? any other sugestions ??

 

Does it have a distributor?

 

Right now yes ...that was my next thing teplace witj hei ignition ...

 

There probably was a metal shield at one time that fit inside the distributor cap over the points to keep noise off the radio. The other thing, are you using resisitor spark plugs?
