Default Rear AC block off CHEAP way and effective!

So my 99 Burban's A/C was leaking to the rear underneath..I tried several ways to fix it but decided to just eliminate the rear. This is an FYI on how to do this cheap instead of buying the block off kits..

What I did..

removed the rear lines from under the hood.. using a pair of channel locks and a large crescent...

instead of the block off kits...

I found out the 3/4 line is nearly if not the same thread as a garden hose.. so..

I bought a male garden hose union 3 dollars..

I bought a female cap to close off the line.. 2 dollars..

found the same pitch thread for the 3/8 line and did the same thing...

All together I spend 10 dollars

I used pipe thread tape just incase.. however it worked without it..

for the 3/4 line there was a seal for a garden hose which worked to seal the block

for the 3/8 line I used a rubber oring...

So far there are no leaks and the AC is ice cold again..

Sorry there are no pictures but it is very simple ..

This is just my way of expressing how happy I am to pioneer a way to do this cheaper..

Please let me know if you have any questions..

Thank you!
