Thumbs up Rebuilding 4l60e 4x4

Okay guys! just tore the transmission out of my 97 Tahoe 5.7, the things has 180,000 on it, and its been a month since ive owned. Other then replacing the broken leaf spring and slapping a good used axle in, now its the trans. ---How do i tell if this thing has been rebuilt?? the reason im tearing into this is because after it shifting into 2nd gear in drive it made a snap or a clunk if you will and lost drive and 3rd gear. replaced solenoids before taking trans out. sooooooooo... the friction clutches say borgwarner and im not sure if borg was a manufactured thing for the 4l60e.also the band that goes around the rear drum is black and has cracks, i plan on doing the rebuild anyway.

also i cant seem to find a diagram or explanation on how to put the anti-clunk spring back in for when it comes time.

all help is very appreciated!
