Default Reverse Wire in 97 GMC Suburban K1500

So I installed a 7" double din GPS Android system in my truck. LOVE it! Has the Torque app so I can see everything going on with my truck. Anyway I want to install the back up camera too. I have to run a lead from the head unit to a reverse wire so it knows to switch on automatically. I would like to hook up under the dash rather than run all the way back to the tail lights if possible. I hooked into the light green wire under my dash as I read most say light green wire. It turns out that is my park wire? In park the back up camera line up lines comes up. No camera since the camera itself it hooked into the reverse lights at the back of the truck for power. If I shift to reverse and it turns the back up camera off. I saw lots on the 2000 and newer Burbans but notta on the 97. Thanks in advance!
