Rocker trim help
I found a pair of GM rocker panel trim pieces in the loft of the garage when I bought my house. They were covered by a half inch of dust, but when washed off I discovered they were almost perfect!
I Chevy guy I know SUPPOSEDLY held them up to a '69 Impala two door and said they matched up perfect except they were wider. This made him think they were for a convertible Impala or Caprice which would need a wider trim piece to cover the wider rockers due to the reinforced frame member. Does this make sense to anyone?
The trim pieces measures 2 15/16 wide, 82 1/2 on bottom edge and 83 1/2 on top edge. Each end has a hole for a screw. One of them has just a couple of marks where the clips once were mounted. No dents or scratches but a little staining which would polish out. These have NO ID marks at all, but I was told these are OE trim pieces.
How can I determine if these are OE and what these fit?? I do have a few pictures of them and can email them if that will help.
Thanks for the help,
John
