Hello - first post. I just picked up a 2003 Malibu LS yesterday. It came with one key and one key fob remote. I'd like to get a couple of others added.

My impression is that the 2003 key is just a key, it doesn't have any chip and isn't "read" by the system, so can I just get keys made anywhere that has a GM key?

I see keyfobs for sale at places like Amazon, with the claim that they're much cheaper than the dealer. My impression though is that a 2003 Malibu requires the dealer to program the keyfob and they have to do all of the fobs at one time. Does anyone have experience with this?
