Post Severe Idle Problems

I have an 87 Chevy 4x4 Silveraldo Pickup Truck Fuel Injected. The Idle has been starting to get faster and faster everyday since Dec of 09. I have changed the Throttle Position Sensor but it shows no change in it. When in Neutral it idles so high I feel it may damage the engine. Its getting harder to come to a stop when driving. I can see there is a large spring that goes through the bottom of the carburetor and attaches to the Idle linkage that this sensor sits on. This spring is all the way against the body of the carburetor. If I change that spring would that make a difference? Has anyone ever had this problem? What did you do to fix this problem?
