Default Short in battery terminal

So I recently bought a 2006 Silverado 1500. The day after I got it I went out to start it and it was totally dead so I popped the hood and I pulled on the battery terminal cord and all of a sudden everything came on. I pulled the cord just above a little red box. It's already done this a couple of times and the most recent time it happened it apparently drained the battery. I'm just looking to find out what's wrong with it and how to fix it. Thanks.

sounds like the battery is fine but the positive battery terminals are loose.

a dead battery would stay dead; pulling a wire will not change that.

open the jump start box or red box and make sure the bolt is tight. check all battery post connections.
