Should the A/C cond pulley spin manually?
1994 Cavalier; With the serp belt broken and off, should I be able to spin the pulley on the A/C cond? I'd lost coolant, used a sealer/coolant from Advance Auto. Smelled something hot, heard squeeking for a few days, then started the car and the serp belt broke. Can't spin the pulley. Did the sealant freeze up my cond and the friction broke the belt? Suggestions? Thanks!!!
hmm
coolant and the A/C is 2 separate systems.
adding something in the coolant for the radiator/engine does not affect the A/C
And the A/C compressor should be able to spin around easely
there could also be a clutch in it that engage and disengage the pulley
but if it is totally stuck the compressor could be toast.
this shows You the consept of A/C
