Need some guidance on how to replace spark plugs for a 2016 Malibu

 

1. Let engine cool down. Dont work on a hot motor.
2. Remove the plastic engine cover and oil fill cap.
3.Remove wires going to the coil packs. Pull back on red tab and remove.
4. Remove coil pack holding bolts.
5. Gently wiggle the coil pack and extention off the spark plug hole.
6. Remove spark plugs, using a spark plug removal socket, not a normal socket,
7. Install new spark plugs, using an anti-sieze compound on the spark plug threads Torque plugs to 15 foot pounds .
8. Place some dielectric grease into the spark plug coil pack extension end and on the coil pack wires.
9. Install the coil pack extension into the spark plug hole and wiggle/push it over the spark plug terminal.
10. Install coil pack bolts back into the same place they were before. Install the coil pack wires into unit.
12. Test engine ignition by starting the vehcile, to make sure that it is firing all cylinders properly.
13. Shut off engine, assuming that all has worked properly. Make sure that there are no tools or parts on motor.
14. Place engine cover back over the engine and tighten the bolts holding it, Place oil fill cap back on motor.
