Sticking rear passenger side brake? 2000 Silverado 1500, 4x4
Hey everyone,
I have a 2000 Silverado 1500, ext cab, 4x4, auto, 5.3L engine with 220k on it.
I am having a problem with the rear, passenger side, brake sticking when it gets hot and/or when I've towed something. I've also noticed a little rubbing noise coming from that side going down the road. Last weekend, I was coming up and down a turny mountain road, and that side was actually nearly locking up pulling the truck back from rolling. At that time I stopped for the day, it was super hot around the wheel, but the next day it was fine again. I guess it has to do with heat/expansion?
I replaced the rotors and pads last year, and the rotors and pads look fine. So, I'm assuming it's the caliber, or maybe just a sticky caliber piston? Or, could it be the parking brake? I know that I need a brake fluid change badly as well!
What do you think it is, I should do? I'm getting older so working on my truck is getting harder, so I figured I should ask for help. I'm not sure if I should just lube up the pistons, or just bad a whole new caliber for that side?
Thanks for all your time and help!

I ended up buying some brake pin lube and taking the caliber off, cleaning up the pins, and lubing the heck out of them. My only problem was that it was hard to torque those caliber bolt pin bolts to 31lbs without them spinning on me. I tried using some crappy narrow vice grips but still not sure if I got one of them right. To early to tell if I solved the problem. Unfortunately, it might be another wheel because I did hear it rubbing again. I thought that it was that back wheel, I'm still pretty sure it was. Thanks again!
