Talking Swapping Interior Have Questions

Hey everyone, got a few questions for the swap pros here.

I have a 2000 Suburban 2500 LT with an excellent body and drivetrain, but the interior is completely trashed—looks like it was used as a dog kennel. On the flip side, I also have a fully loaded 2004 Suburban 1500 LS (Bose, power pedals, DBW, steering wheel controls, rear entertainment—the works). It was my wife’s old ride and is super clean inside.

My goal is to swap the entire interior from the 2004 into the 2000 2500, including the dash and steering column. I’m planning to strip both trucks completely and swap over the full interior harness.

Now here’s the catch: the 2000 is drive-by-cable, and the 2004 is drive-by-wire. Since the engine is already out of the 2500 and the bay is wide open, I’m considering converting it to DBW while I’m in there.

So I’ve got a few key questions:
  • What exactly do I need to swap over to go from DBC to DBW?
  • Is it worth converting the 2500 to DBW while I’m doing this swap?
  • Will the 2004 interior wiring integrate cleanly with the rest of the 2000’s systems if I do the full dash and column?
Just looking for insight and advice before I dive in. Appreciate any help!
