I have a tapping sound under my dash, around blower fan housing area.Do anyone know what's causing it. It only taps when I turn on / off the ignition. It's a 1993 chevy W/T1500 4.3L TBFI.

could be the actuator located in the passenger side floor board. they make of a clicking noise tho. i think it's a recirculation actuator

 

I'm not a mechanic,just a dyi'er.How hard is it to replace the recirculation actuator,and do I need to remove the dash.

 

if it's the one that needs replaced it's pretty easy to get to. only 3 5.5mm screws hold it in. did u find out if that's the actuator making the noise?
