Sorry guys for being such a Newb, I serched a little but with my retarded seach skills I didn't come up with much info.
Just wondering if most all TH400 are the same for car/truck applications, wanting to use one in my next build.
and what is a THM400
I guess you can say I'm a poser by owning mostly fords in my garage(most all my knowledge) but I plan on putting it behind a 5.4, and any info will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks timothy

THM is technically the actual abbreviation, TurboHydroMatic. that's all. and as far as i've seen, 400's are the same, with the exception of the output shaft and tailhousing length.

That's what I was thinking. I plan on doing a manual valvebody in it and any of the lengths don't matter using a divorced case it just has to be a 2x4 unit.
I would post a pic of the truck it's going in but its a f-150 4x4, doubt this site wants to see a ford with 24"s of lift. lol

I'll update the thread as I get more involved with the idea, I just have to do tons more research, so I won't feel so clueless when it comes to a 400.
Oh and if anybody has any tips or things for me to look out for that would be great if you replied.
Don't want a crank killer

I believe there are two diffrent types of th400's The chevy/GMC version and the POB (pontiac, olds, buick) version. The bellhousing patterns are diffrent but you can get an adapter plate. As for a car th400 and a truck th400 theres really no diffrence, other than some heavy duty truck th400 cases have a big "K" cast into them. Thoses cases are slightly thicker making them stronger.
