Default Is there anyway to use Onstar wifi without running the vehicle?

Hi, I just purchased a Chevy Express van. I love the AT&T wifi I can get for it. But is there a way to use it without having to keep the van running. Onstar says you can keep the vehicle in accessory mode but won't that just run the battery down? I will be using my van for business so I will be sitting in it working when I'm not driving it. I just don't want to run the battery or gas down to be able to use it. I would appreciate any help with this! Thanks, Tracy

i'm pretty sure you need at least accessory on...
it will run down your battery, yeah.

i think the wifi works with radio antenna,
& accessory will shut off 10 min. after the engine is off,
so you will have 10mins. of wifi & radio.

i would check, but my free wifi promo just expired on saturday.

what you COULD do, is park where there is free wifi, & do your work, like mcdonalds or wherever haha

ask a dealer, but i'm 99% sure accessory/radio has to be on to use wifi

Well once I switch over to Verizon when I order my iphoneX I won't have to worry about it much. I was just hoping to also have AT&T when I travel because usually most places one of the other will likely work.

I do try to get to McDonalds or wherever when I work put it's not alway possible.

I'm surprised that can't figure out a way to make it work without using something that will drain your battery or waste your gas
