buy a heat gun. do it in a garage to make sure the windows are warm, and use a heat gun while peeling it back. Should get most of the glue with the film, then use a razor blad for the stubborn parts...but not where a defogger grid is present. You might use brake and parts cleaner or acrysol with a rag also

Any glass cleaner with amonia in it works great. The more anomia the better. You could use amonia and water mix but the odor would be terrible. Auto parts stores may sell something specificly for that

Never had any good results with high amounts of ammonia. Tried it once and it just turned it purple.

A heat gun is the best way to go. Heat the window evenly, then concentrate on your starting point. As you peel, spray the part you peel up with windex or alcohol so that it doesn't flop back down and stick again.
