Default tire pressure light

my check tire pressure light comes on when i start my truck. It stays on for about 10 minutes and then turns off. Why does it do that. I have a 2004 chevy tahoe.

I'm not completely educated on the system, but one theory might be that your tire pressure is actually low. And after driving the vehicle for 10 minutes the tires heat up, thus expanding the air in the tire bringing it up to proper PSI. But I would assume you already checked to make sure the cold psi pressure is in spec.
