Default Tire Size Question

Hey guys thanks for the help in advance. I have a 1988 GMC Half ton with the stock rally rims (15x8) and im looking at getting a set of 295-50-15 for a good price. Just wondering if they would fit that rim size alright. It says 8" - 10.5" but just wondering if anyone has done it?

Thanks!!!!

It should look good.. I like my tires to balloon out from the rim some. IF you were to g owith a 10.5" rim the tire would end up the same width of the rim. IMHO it looks like poop and if you curb it a little to hard you can easily pop the tire off the bead.

Jimbo,

I understand that some like the look of wider tires on narrower rims, but, tires were designed to run with their sidewalls vertical.
Those 295's run from 9.9-10.2" in width, and IF you're buying new rims, 10's would be the best choice.
Have you checked the difference in the overall diameter (bigger or smaller?)
