Default Transmission Help For Dummies

I have a 2007 Suburban with 85,000 miles. Yesterday, I was picking up my kids and the truck would not move at the light. It then shifted hard, and went into gear but drove sort of rough. I took it to Auto Parts Store, and the clerk checked the fluid...it was low. We (he) put in 2 quarts, and now it still shifts rough at times. It's only been one day but is this permanent, will it ride out, do I need to reset the computer as I've read, or is my transmission shot? If it is shot, is this covered in the PowerTrain warranty? Thank you in advance for your replies.

It would be coverd in the powertrain warranty, ad no, it won't ride out.
Double check the maintinence schedule in the owner's manual and make sure you didn't miss a scheduled service on the trans. That may give the dealer a way out of covering it.
