Default Transmission noise

Hi there I'm new to the chevy forums, and was wondering if anyone knew or could possibly help me pinpoint a problem out of my trans. So the noise I'm hearing sounds like gravel in the trans, I believe it's coming out of the bell housing. I only hear it when the wheels are turning, not when it's in idle though. It doesn't matter if it's in drive, reverse, or neutral as long as the wheels move I can hear it. I did find some very small metal shavings on top of the inspection port on the bell housing as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated

You need to post more information, i.e. type vehicle, standard, or automatic transmission.

Drain the fluid, and see what it looks like. Could also be a magnet in the bottom of the pan, if so, check for metal
