Default Trying to diagnose backfire issue on my 89 chevy 1500

Ive done plugs/wires
Dist. Cap
Egr valve
Fuel pressure Regulator
fuel filter to pump and even a new tank and still having lack of power and no load acceleration.
Back at square one to what I thought could fix this issue. I’m stumped. Any input on what I should check/do next?
Much thanks

Backfire if not running is timing. Can you give more detail to the issue?

It’s running, starts right up every turn. Does fine until there is a load on the engine. It sounds like it slap sound around my engine and backfires. No hard acceleration, loss of power

Could be an intake manifold vaccum leak.
