I know its coming from the carb but I can't really pinpoint it.
All of the vacuum lines are intact and are not leaking, I sprayed for leaks there also

When I was out there spraying, the choke was about half open and I could still hear it.
I'll go back out in a couple hours and see if theirs a difference between choke full closed to full open.

The only thing common between the two carbs is the electric choke, might not be that, but?

Could be, the choke was originally a hot air choke but I switched the whole assembly during the rebuild and put an electric housing on.
I can't think of anything else except the throttle shaft might be loose, but I'll check.
Thanks for the help

Ok so I found out that the throttle shaft needs bushings, I was sitting in the car and I I just set my foot on the gas, not giving it gas just tensioned the accelerator cable because theirs a tiny bit of slack and the whistle stopped while it was tensioned and whistled again when I took my foot off. That also explains why it was the same on both carbs, the 86 (new 1) had a pretty marked up throttle plate and had olds throttle linkage so I kept the 83's (old 1) throttle plate with the Chevy linkage, after making sure it would work of course.

Oil that smells like gas !!!! This happened to me and it was a ruptured diaphragm in the fuel pump, leaking fuel into the block. Disregard this message if your using an electric fuel pump.

The needle and seat assembly was messed up on the carb not allowing the needle to seat all of the way. That's why I switched to the 86 qjet I found in the back of my garage
I just doubted the fuel pumps diaphram ruptured already because I replaced it this year in January.
But thanks for your input
Its always appreciated
