I'm trying to figure what motor to build. I have a 62 Chevy c-10 in the process of building. I don't want to go super crazy. I want a blown sbc. I have a 400 short block, a 350 complete (70s), 350 vortec (80-92). I do blievethe older 350 is 4bolt I'm more so stuck on heads, should I even worry about debating over it? or would 305 be too much? Vortec heads are a good idea, or possibly the 400? I'm looking for low to mid end. Pump gas, or should I just use the crank out the 400 and build a 383 with vortec heads. It's also a budget build, trying to keep machine work to a minimum but also not afraid to spend where it's needed.
