Windshield washer fluid
I have a 2006 Uplander. The manual says to use Gm Optiklean windshield washer fluid. I know it's important to use the right tranny fluid, engine oil, power steering fluid, etc. Is it just as important to use the recommended windshield wash?
Thanks,

Main thing is to use a washer fluid that won't freeze up in winter. Hell, if you want to get cheap, just mix a SMALL amount of Dawn dishwashing fluid to a 1 gallon bottle of
water, shake it up and pour it in. Works real good. It's NOT a below -32 F fluid however. Here is what Scotty says:
I have used the Rain-X brand for years. Rain-X was originally sold in a small squirt bottle that you could apply to your windows like a wax and it repels water. The orange fluid is not as good at repelling water as the original but it does allow me to use my windshield wipers less in light rain. It also makes it easier to remove bugs in the summer and frost in the winter.
