Z71 wont hit.
I've got a 98 Z71 with a 350 it ran fine yesterday and now it wont start. Turns over good shows plenty of oil pressure when cranking just doesn't seem to have any spark. I replaced plugs, wires, and distributor cap two months ago. Any ideas on where to start all the ignition dues are good. Thanks for any ideas.
Fuel pump starts with key on runs about 3 to 5 seconds. I also tried a small amount of starting fluid. Didn't even try to hit which leads me to believe its not getting any fire. Is there a ignition relay or anything that could keep it from firing?
grab one of these:

If you have an HEI system get this one:

If you can light that thing up then your ignition system is fine. Just unplug an ignition wire and plug it onto this tool, then clip it to a good ground and crank the engine. If this tool sparks your good if not you may have a bad ignition coil or maybe a bad ignition switch.
