After doing an engine R&R, and replacing the ECM, I can start the engine. But, I can not move the transmission shift out of the Park position. This condition does not include the usual situation where the key can not be removed from the ignition lock set. Along with the transmission shift not being able to be moved from the Park position, when I hook up my OBD II scanner the theft deterrent icon lights up in the dash board although I am able to start the engine. The OBD II scanner also will not communicate with the system and gives me a Link Error status when trying to read codes. If there is a cure to the above said condition, please provide the manner in which I would go about resolving this mystery.
