Our 2006 Chvy HHR has been having this problem intermittently. Sometimes I start it and it gives 3 warning beeps and the steering is stiff. If I restart it, it may be fine, or not, but usually resolves quickly. Most of the time it happens as I'm driving down the road- the 3 beeps and then the jerking and warning lights blinking. I can get where I'm going and then when I restart to return home a bit later, all is fine. We had the power steering recall done by the dealership, but it didn't fix it. Could it be a fuse? Are there more recalls on this? We're worried we will lose our brakes or steering going down the road.
