Default Cargo Space Question

I've been thinking about what kind of vehicle to purchase for my mobile auto detailing business and was considering the HHR. I want to stay away from getting a cargo van because of the huge size and gas consumption. My question is, compared to most suv's how is the cargo capacity? What I like about the HHR is the unique look it has and that it provides a flat cargo space area.

I can say it will carry A LOT. If you fold down the passenger seat you can carry 8 foot lumber and pipe. We have had 3 people in it and carried home my large garden tiller and another trip brought home a multi box tool box for my hubby.... It also hauls 4 people and all the garb and such for weekends at Renaissance Festival... and if you are a Ren you will understand JUST how much stuff it has to handle... With both back seats down it is a HUGE area... I would say take the biggest box you have to haul with you and go check it out!

I use my HHR Panel to haul my DJ equipment and on longer trips I can get my clothing and accessories in there on top of the equipment. I've had 6 speakers, the amp, the mixer and CD deck, two gig bags full of cables and stuff, speaker stands for six speakers, the stool I sit on three cases of CDs and two people. I think I could say your detailing supplies will certainly fit in there.

I know this is an old thread but a person in this situation might consider what I have, a partial panel.
