Default Chevy HHR door adjar Message

I have a 2010 Chevy HHR that I bought last year. I use to have a 2003 Chevy Malibu before. The Malibu had an indicator that showed when the doors were not close all the way, The HHR has the Door adjar message that show up when the hatch isn’t closed all the way, the side doors are open all the way. Shouldn’t the message come on when the side door are not close all the way, like the Malibu?<O</O

Thanks

Hmm I never really paid it any attention. But I went out and checked mine just now. With the hatch open mine reads gate ajar. And with any door open the DIC reads door ajar. So unless they changed something for 2010 it should say door ajar.

Maybe I wasn’t clear enough or they must have changed something after 2010. On the Malibu, if you doors weren’t latch all the way, it would show ajar. But on the HHR, the side doors have to be open all the way to have the message to show. The hatch just has to not be latched all the way, like the Malibu side doors.
Thanks for the reply
Tim

My apologies I did not fully understand the post. I just went out and checked mine again. And you are correct. If it open it reads door ajar. But if it's only half closed it doesn't say anything. Weird, I never noticed that. Wonder why they have it like that? I hate that about the HHR. No lights for nothing. When on cruise it just quickly says cruise engaged. Low fuel, no light, just says low fuel. Lol I need the dummy lights!

I know it. I had no idea that they didn't say anything. I suppose double check the doors.
