'00 Impala 9C3 Transmission
I just typed a whole thing out about my transmission failing and when i clicked post, it went to page cannot be displayed and lost the whole thing. so ill be short this time.
My trans went in my 2000 impala undercover police package 9C3 3.8L and am going to a "you pull it" salvage yard to find a new one and need the part number and all the information i can get about the transmission that will either be compatible with my car or the exact transmission i need to find. ive found 4 different types of trans' for the 2000 impala 3.8L but have NO clue which one i need and cant find anywhere which one i need. someone help me? its best to email at ma649@yahoo.com because im not sure if work will let me get on this site or not. someone help me out?

also
im not sure if anyone else has the same problem with their impala's transmission but it wont shift past second. does anyone know an easier cheaper fix for this other than replacing the whole trans?

how hard would it be to find a 4t65e or a 4t65e HD trans at a salvage yard? will most 2000+ impala's have that or would i have to find another 9C1/9C3?

RE: '00 Impala 9C3 Transmission
I've got a 2000 with the 3.4L, I just threw it up on jacks earlier today to find this tag that the dealer told me to look for. It says mine is the RDB model. Dealership said that two diff trannys were used that year and the VIN can't tell you which one is in your car. I was also told that I have to get a used one off of a 2000 model. That sounds rediculous to me... but I'm not risking anything. Anyway, there is hardly any information about this topic readily availible out here on the www, so here's some good reading for all who seek it. Good luck
