hello

i have an 03 impala when i start it after sitting for an hour brake padal goes to floor, pump it a couple of times then all ok until i shut it off. mechanic dont know, chev has no bulletins on this problem, anyone seen it before

 

that is kind of a wierd problem! sounds to me you have a leak somewhere in the system possibly the abs unit but when you say sit for an hour is it just sitting there idleing or are you driving it? and does the brake pedal feel fine after that or is it spongy?

 

it sits overnight or when we go shopping etc for an hour or so thats when the brakes loose the pressure.
the brakes are normal after pumping them up, good until i shut the car off and it sits again, i dont believe this car has abs
