Has anybody ever had an impala hydrolock on them ? I have a 2006 chevy impala LT with the 3.9 engine 151,000 and the engine shut down the other day during a rainstorm. I thought it was the starter so I replaced it, needless to say the engine started with a loud knocking noise and shooting antifreeze out the exhaust, I shut it it right back off and had it towed to the family mechanic's house. he is telling me I need a new engine most likely a bent rod. Well now I need a new engine ugghh. I also filed a claim with my full coverage insurance hoping I can get the engine covered since I'm still making payments. So anybody know where I can find a decent engine for it ?????
