Default 07 Impala Heat Issues

I am having an issue with my heater. When i am driving and the car heats up it blows hot air and keeps the car warm on the inside, but as soon as i stop at a red light or a stop sign the air starts blowing ice cold as if i have the AC on. Does anyone have any insite as to what the problem could be? I recently (with in the past 4 months) had the AC compressor replaced due to the clutch locking up. Before that the car was in North Carolina and Florida so heat wasnt an issue that much down there, but now in Wisconsin it is becoming an issue.

Thanks for any input or advice on how to fix the problem

Sherwood.

You probably have air in your cooling system. Take the radiator cap off, fill with coolant and press on the hose to get the air out.
