Default 2000 impala inside rear view mirror
The inside mirror on my Impala fogged over, and black goo is leaking out! I don't think it can be repaired, but how do i remove the mirror,and where is the cheapest place to get a new one?

there should be a Torx screw at the base of it. Lossen the screw then slide the mirror up off the button on the windshield.
Cheapest place I would say is the auto recyclers

Default Impala mirror
I can't access the torx screw because it has a plastic cover that I can't get off. How does the cover come off. I've tried to the point of fearing that the windshield will break, but can't figure it out.

it should just un-clip....try using a pick or small screwdriver to release the tabs
