Default 2003 impala defrosters

Hi,
My son and I have bought a very nice condition 2003 Impala.
When attempting to switch functions from floor, or vents to defrost, not much change occurs to air flow. So my question is where is the door actuator that controls those functions? I have bought this actuator hoping its the correct one(
Amazon.com: HVAC Blend Door Actuator - Replaces 604107, 16124932, 16177412, 604-107 - Compatible with Chevy, GMC Vehicles and More - Tahoe, Malibu, Monte Carlo, Corvette, K1500 Suburban, Yukon, Regal: Automotive Amazon.com: HVAC Blend Door Actuator - Replaces 604107, 16124932, 16177412, 604-107 - Compatible with Chevy, GMC Vehicles and More - Tahoe, Malibu, Monte Carlo, Corvette, K1500 Suburban, Yukon, Regal: Automotive
), but now I am reading that it is air or vacuum controlled, but I am not finding anything concrete in Google.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You bought the electric blend door which controls hot/cold temperature blend, not the door which diverts air flow to various vent openings.

My crystal ball is out for repair.

Sounds like you're familiar with Google. Type in "Chevrolet part dealers" + your city.

I don't know what you need (if anything), because you haven't found the source of the problem. GM usually puts air handling behind the passenger kick panels. Vacuum is piped in from the engine intake. See if the actuator is getting any.

If you plan to do your own service, your son might appreciate the gift of a repair manual:

apparently your of no help, and only limited to sarcasm, as I have always had much help in forums, except this one. I will seek knowledge elsewhere, thanks for wasting peoples time, and sounds like your crystal ball isn't the only thing needing repair.
