Default 2006 3.5 Lt

I have a 2006 3.5L LT with under 35K miles... from time to time when I turn the car on there is a whine to the engine. It isn't a loud squelch like you see on other vehicles, its sort of a medium hydraulic whine. I have replaced all the fluids I can think of, and the problem is still there. I think it is associated with the belts or a pump because whenever I rev the engine the sound follows suite.

Additionally, my alarm remote doesn't seem to work properly. If I am over 20ft away from my vehicle I get no response, I am not sure if that is common with the model; however, I know on my Acura I had before this I could use the remote from over 150ft with no problems.

Thanks.

Default RE: 2006 3.5 Lt

some of the impalas have an issue with the alarm not working from a distance.
the fix is to replace the alarm/remote entry module.
our 07 impala, can be unlocked, locked, or remote started from at least 300 ft away. 450 ft by placing remote to chin.
