my name is kevin 1 car i have is a 2006 impala LT. The problem i am having is with the a/c.I put a new compressor in. now it won"t take freon and when i push the a/c button on the control panel the light blinks 6 times and goes off. does anyone know whats wrong. Recap i got the system to take freon (my vacuum pump wasn't working) once freon was in the light stopped blinking.NOW what happens is the 10 amp a/c fuse blows.

 

I moved your thread to the Impala section. Not sure what you mean by "it won't take freon". Do you have a set of gauges hooked up? Is the compressor running? If not and there's not enuf R134a in the system to turn on the Low pressure switch, then you'll have to get some freon in it so the compressor will operate.
